The Second Conference for students and young researchers
“Sociology and Contemporary Social Transformations”

The Conference will be held 29-30 October 2009
at the Sociology Faculty, National T.Shevchenko University of Kyiv (60 Volodymyrska St., Kyiv, Ukraine)

Organizational committee invites students and young researchers to take part at the conference and to present the papers within the following general topics:

• Contemporary Theoretical Approaches towards Understanding of Social Transformation: Global and Local Dimensions
  
• Classical Sociological Traditions in Research of Social Changes
  
• Social Transformations in Post-Socialistic Countries (in Economic, Political, and Cultural Areas)
  
• Culture Field and Social Changes
  
• Tendencies of Changes in Contemporary Communication Practices
  
• Social Transformations: Chances and Risks for Different Social Groups
  
• Methodological Approaches for Social Transformation Study
  
• Application of Qualitative and Quantitative Strategies for Research of Social Changes

Work languages are Ukrainian, Russian, English.

Duration of presentation – no more than 10 min.

Organizational committee will consider possibility of settling of invited foreign and Ukrainian participants at the University’s dormitory.

The participants provide themselves of travel, settling and food expenses.

Application (see below) and abstract (up to 500 signs) should be sending to the following e-mail address: soc_depscience@univ.kiev.ua before 26 September 2009.

Fee:

For students – 50 Hryvnas;
For post-graduated students and young researchers – 100 Hryvnas.

Fee covers conference’s program, accompanying materials and coffee-break.

Fee for publication:
For students – 30 Hryvnas for thesis;
For post-graduated students and young researchers – 20 Hryvnas per one page.
