The Princess Dashkova Russian Centre at the University of Edinburgh aims to advance high quality scholarship in Russian socio-cultural language and discourse studies. It invites postgraduate applications in these and related fields (language policy, Global Russian, communication, translation, poetics, etc) for 2013/14.

The closing date for scholarship applications is 15 February 2013, and by this time scholarship candidates must already have been offered a place for PhD study at Edinburgh.

• a PhD Scholarships in Literatures, Languages and Cultures at the University of Edinburgh. The scholarships will cover tuition fees at the Home/EU rate (currently £3,828 p.a.), plus an annual maintenance stipend of c. £13,590 for three years. The stipend will increase in line with the Arts and Humanities Council maintenance grant. Overseas students are welcome to apply for the scholarships but should note that, if successful, they will need to pay the difference between the Home/EU tuition fee and the overseas tuition fee. Currently the difference is £7,622.
